Cuba Elementary students enjoy the new fresh fruit, vegetable program

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Cuba Elementary students were excited about the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program that is being implemented at their school.

Each day, all students are provided free fresh fruits and vegetables.

"This is a great way to introduce fresh fruits and vegetables as a healthy snack option," said Rita Wiggins, food service manager.

Wiggins provides an information sheet that tells about each food item. For some of the students, it may be their first opportunity to sample a particular food.
