Graves High Band’s ‘Looks Like Rain’ proves prophetic
MAYFIELD, KY (KFVS) - The Pride of Graves County High School Marching Band is shown here, being called to attention by field commander Mitchell Rollins.
The band was preparing to begin its season at the Madisonville Maroon Classic. In an ironic twist, the GCHS band, whose show is titled "Looks Like Rain," was unable to perform at its first competition of the season, due to lightning. However, the band did perform the show at halftime at the Sept. 9 Paducah Tilghman at Graves County football game.
The Graves County Band will perform next at its home competition, The Pride of Graves County Marching Invitational, at the GCHS stadium Saturday, Sept. 17. Nine bands are scheduled to perform, with the opening ceremony at 5 p.m. at the fourth contest Graves County has sponsored.
