Administrators told the crowd of about 700 employees that they were inspired recently by the message of Mike Rayburn, a comedian-guitarist who was a keynote speaker at the Kentucky Association of School Administrators' Summer Institute.

They said Rayburn encourages people to face the impossible by asking, "What if?"

Some of the administrators' examples of achieving the impossible included:

MAYFIELD,  KY (KFVS) - Graves County schools started the 2011-2012 school year on Thursday, August 4.

Six-year-old Aiden Carson started the first grade at Symsonia Elementary.

Walking with his parents, Seth and Shannon Carson, the first grader put his arm around his younger brother, Matthew, who was disappointed because he's still a year away from starting kindergarten.

The final enrollment figures won't be finalized for a few more days, but according to the school district, apporximately 4,500 students attend Graves County schools.

The district says since 2004 they have ranked among the top 7.5 percent in Kentucky academics.
