Graves High teacher encourages bidding on art he donated for scholarship

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The silent auction art pieces retiring Graves County High School art teacher Jack Goodwin has donated for an art scholarship in his name are on display in the district’s performing arts center, awaiting bids.

Goodwin encourages colleagues, friends, and former students to view the works and bid on them by the end of April. Donations also will be accepted. You can make checks payable to the Goodwin Art Scholarship Fund. The scholarship will help someone who is gifted in art go to college.

“Most gifted art students have medium to low academic grade point averages, but they will succeed in an art school atmosphere,” Goodwin said. “This scholarship is aimed at people who cannot get academic scholarships and have financial need.”

To learn more, phone PAC director Donna Gream at 270-328-4824 or 674-4824 or email Goodwin at jack.goodwin@graves.kyschools.us.
