GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The Mayfield Habitat ReStore will celebrate its one year anniversary with an Open House and fundraiser on Saturday, June 2 from 10 am to 3 pm.
“A ReStore is a retail thrift shop, the proceeds of which help us qualify families for mortgages on homes they help us build in Graves County” said Connie Hanner, Executive Director of the affiliate. “ReStores offer a different mix of products than a traditional thrift store. We accept everything from building materials like lumber and plumbing supplies to insulation, tools, outdoor equipment, furniture and appliances, plus the traditional thrift store items like furniture, appliance, housewares and trinkets.”
“Habitat ReStores began as a grass roots effort to keep excess building waste out of landfills and to help bring is some extra capitol into the affiliates,” said Mayfield-Graves County Habitat for Humanity, Inc. board President Teresa Cantrell. “Affiliates knew they had a winner on their hands when the ReStores began to gain in popularity among builders, remodelers, contractors and eventually the general public.”
In addition to great buys on everything, including the kitchen sink, food will be available for sale. Hamburgers will sell for $1, hotdogs, chips and soft drinks will be sold for 50 cents each.
The store is located at 901 Paducah Road in Mayfield.
