Paducah woman charged with drugs, receiving stolen property

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -  A Paducah woman was recently arrested on drug and receiving stolen property charges.

Haley Boggs, 22, was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police say charges are pending on Richard Middleton, 32, from Paducah.

According to Kentucky State Police, they were contacted by a man on Thursday, June 6 around 5 p.m. He told them his home on KY 1684 had been burglarized with several items missing.

After an initial investigation, police were led to a home on Florida Street in Paducah where Boggs and Middleton were found. While conducting an interview with Boggs, police say they noticed several of the items that were reported missing were laying throughout the home in plain view.

Murray man accused of passing fraudulent checks

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -  A Murray man is accused of cashing fraudulent checks.

In May, McCracken County Sheriff’s Department detectives began investigating fraudulent checks being cashed at Easy Money Express in Paducah. 

Christopher James Walls, 24, of Murray went to Easy Money Express located on Park Avenue on May 7, 2013 and presented a check that was forged from Liberty Tax Service.

James Walls attempted to cash a second check May 8, 2013 at Easy Money Express on Alben Barkley Drive.

According to the sheriff's department, James Walls cashed fraudulent checks in Paducah, Mayfield, and Murray; all checks were over $4,800 each.

More than 100 checks were reported stolen from Liberty Tax Service in Detroit, Michigan.

Walls was arrested on 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony.

Walls is being held in McCracken County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Two from Fancy Farm were arrested on drug charges after deputies say they tried to avoid a highway safety checkpoint.

John Bell, 29, and Alicia Bell, 24, were charged with cultivating marijuana five plants or more first offense, trafficking in marijuana 8 oz. to <5 lbs first offense, wanton endangerment first degree and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Alicia Bell was also charged with tampering with physical evidence after deputies say she tried to hide the marijuana while they were speaking with her husband outside in the driveway.

Graves County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested the couple, from Fancy Farm, after a late night search warrant was executed at their home located on State Rout 339 just North of Fancy Farm.

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon has released information on three recent arrests in Graves County.

Deputies were called to the scene of a theft in the Tri-City area last week where a racing style go-kart had been stolen from a residence on KY 97.

Officers learned Tyler Ellegood was trying to sell a go-kart that may have been the one stolen. Ellegood was supposed to be staying at a residence on KY 303.

When deputies arrived at that address, Ellegood was not there, but officers say the go-kart was located in the back yard.

Officers say Ellegood had just been to the residence and dropped the go-kart off. The victim was called to that location and identified the go-kart.

Ellegood was later located on a traffic stop on Waldrop Drive. Tyler Ellegood was charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500 and traffic charges. He was taken to the Graves County Jail.

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Two Eldorado, Ill. residents were charged Tuesday, May 21 in connection with a theft from a Graves County business.

Elizabeth Diane Rector, 35, and Derrick Donell Everett, 41, were charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500. They were taken to the Graves County Jail.

According to Kentucky State Police, Mid-America Machine reported several thefts of valuable metals and air compressor parts between October 2012 and May 2013.

KSP says the investigation is ongoing with additional suspects and subsequent charges pending.

2 Fancy Farm men face drug, stolen property charges

FANCY FARM, KY (KFVS) - Two Graves County men have been arrested on drug and stolen property charges in Fancy Farm.

Robert Matt Higgins, 18, and Robert Sams, 23, both of Fancy Farm were arrested after deputies responded to a house south of Fancy Farm. Someone reported the two men were trying to sell stolen property.

When Sams answered the door and realized offercers were there, he tried to slam the door and run, according to the Graves County Sheriff's Office.

Officers began to chase Sams and were able to catch him. Higgins was found inside the home.

While in the home, officers smelled burnt marijuana and saw illegal narcotics in plain view.

Officers found several stolen items from recent thefts in the Fancy Farm community.

A large freezer bag of marijuana along with scale and other items of paraphernalia were found, according to the Graves County Sheriff's Office.

Mayfield woman facing drug charges

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon says a Mayfield woman was arrested Wednesday, April 10 on drug charges.

Theresa Sullivan Hitchcock, 49, was charged with possession of a controlled substance first degree and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Redmon says this charge is from a search warrant that was executed at her home on Acorn Drive, just north of Mayfield. He says the drug unit received information of illegal drug activity at the home. 

According to Redmon, the investigation revealed several syringes in the home that had illegal narcotics inside them.

Hitchcock was taken to the Graves County Jail awaiting court proceedings.
