MAYFIELD, KY (KFVS) - Graves County Sheriff's deputies re-arrested a Mayfield man after a foot chase he escaped from custody Tuesday.

Gary K. Bruce, 44, of Mayfield was in custoday at the Graves County Courthouse on an arrest warrant for three counts of theft by unlawful taking.

Before he could be restrained, Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon says Bruce ran out the front doors of the courthouse.

Security officers and a Graves County Sheriff's deputy chased Bruce to the corner of 7th Street and Water Street where they used a Taser on him.

After a brief struggle, Bruces was arrested and taken to the Graves County Jail.

Bruce now faces additional charges of fleeing or evading police 1st degree, escape 3rd degree, assault 3rd degree on a peace office, resisting arrest and criminal mischief 3rd degree.

A court security officer received minor injuries during the arrest. 

He was treated and released at Jackson Purchase Medical Center.
