Mayfield man accused of selling stolen property

MAYFIELD, KY (KFVS) - A Mayfield man was arrested August 1 after police say he sold stolen goods.

Charles May, 48, of Mayfield was arrested after investigators conducted a follow-up investigation.

Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon says a team of investigators went to a business in the Lynnville community to question an individual about stolen firearms.

May is accused of selling a 30 ton wood splitter and a 21 gallon upright air compressor to that individual.

The items were found under a tarp on a nearby farm in a tree line next to woods.

The wood splitter was reported stolen on May 28, 2012 from a home on Jeff Davis Road.

The air compressor was reported stolen from a home Miller's Chapel Road east of Mayfield.

May bonded out on August 4.

He was previously arrested on similar charges.

May was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000.
