Mayfield man sentenced to over 12 years for selling cocaine base | Crime

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A Graves County, Kentucky man was sentenced to over 12 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release for selling a cocaine base.

Senior Judge Thomas B. Russell says Deangelo Collins, 31, from Mayfield was sentenced for selling 71 grams of cocaine base.

According to the plea agreement, Collins was video/audio recorded on three separate occasions selling a cocaine base to a confidential informant working for the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Graves County, Kentucky Sheriff’s Department.

In court, Collins admitted to selling 18.8 grams of a mixture or substance containing cocaine base in exchange for $1,000. On Nov. 17, 2011, and to selling 7.8 grams of a mixture or substance containing a cocaine base on Nov. 30, 2011, and to selling 44.4 grams of a mixture or substance containing a cocaine base on Dec. 2, 2011.

Collins was charged on Feb. 14, 2012, in a three count federal indictment by a grand jury meeting in Paducah, Ky. He entered a guilty plea to all three counts on June 26, 2012 before Senior Judge Russell.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert Bonar and was investigated by the Graves County Sheriff’s Department and the United States DEA.
