Graves High prom, 'Under the Sea,' scheduled for May 4

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Graves County High School’s prom, Under the Sea, will be held Saturday, May 4, in the Eagles’ Nest Gymnasium.

It features a beach and underwater theme this year.

Prom permission forms must be submitted to teacher Jennifer Hunter in Room B05 in order to purchase prom tickets. If a form is not submitted, a ticket cannot be purchased.  

Tickets will be sold through Friday, May 3. Prices are $25 for a single ticket or $30 for a couple.

The Grand March will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Prom will end at 11:30 p.m.  

Jones Photography will take pictures at prom and packages will be sold. Orders can be made at prom and payment is expected at the time of order.

  • GCHS, Track Team visits Paducah Tilghman for the Area 1 Championships, time TBA
  • Sedalia, Sedalia Day and 5-K Run 8 a.m.

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - During the month of April the Graves County Sheriff's Office had the following activity on the "When Will It Click?" grant.

Saturation Patrol: 64 Hours

School Activities/Programs: 24 Hours

Traffic Enforcement Zone: 22 Hours

Speed Equipment Operator: 4 Hours

Saturation Patrol roadways in April included US 45 South, US 45 North, KY 131, KY 121 By Pass and KY 80 East.

Traffic Enforcement Zone roadways in April included KY 94 at KY 97 and US 45 North at KY 408.

There were a total of 194 citations or written warnings issued in April. Those included:

Graves Co. Future Eagle Nights in early to mid-May

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The Graves County Schools want to ease the transition to kindergarten this fall for students and their families.

So, several schools’ family resource centers have scheduled “Future Eagle Nights.”

Each event will begin with snacks. Parents and children then will visit classrooms, participate in fun activities throughout the school, and learn about kindergarten readiness. Each child will receive a free transitioning kit with activities to get ready during the summer.

Documentation may be brought in during this event. Enrolling kindergarten students are required to have this documentation prior to the first day of school, Aug. 6: a state-certified birth certificate, a Social Security card, a current immunization certificate, an entry level school physical examination form, a dental exam form, and an eye exam form.
