GCMS Summer Camp helps students from elementaries adjust through 7th grade | News
GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Graves County Middle School hosted its first-ever Camp GCMS in mid-June for this fall’s incoming seventh graders.
The three-day event attracted some 120 students from throughout the county who completed elementary school in May. Altogether, some 300 new seventh graders will attend the school during 2013-14.
Ethan Alexander said he’s enjoyed the camp’s fun classes and the chance to meet students from other schools.
Samantha Pritchett said her mother was right in telling her the camp would help her prepare for the first year of having more independence and responsibility.
“I think it’s going to be a fun year,” she said with a smile, “especially now that we’ve gotten to know some of the teachers and the other kids.”
