Graves Co. School Dist. introduces new family resource center director at Sedalia, Cuba Elem. | People

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Cuba and Sedalia Elementary Schools announced Michael Duncan from Sedalia accepted the position of director of the family resource center.

“It’s an opportunity for me to reach out to the children in our community to help bridge the gap between education and their home life,” he explained. “We’re trying to remove the non-cognitive barriers to receiving the best education they can get.”

Duncan worked for many years at Vanderbilt Chemical Plant in Murray. Five years ago, he decided to change careers and since then has earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and counseling from Mid-Continent University, near Mayfield. He has a daughter, Allie Duncan, a 16-year-old junior at Graves County High School.
