GCHS honors librarian Lynda Hiles as first quarter Best in Nest

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Graves County High School’s first quarter Best in the Nest Award was presented to librarian Lynda Hiles.

Marina Burchett and Marcie Leonard nominated her and she was selected by the voting committee. Here is an excerpt from the nomination form:

"Lynda is an excellent media specialist. She has worked tirelessly for several months to organize the school-wide ‘We Read Week.’ Thanks to her efforts, each student walked away from the library with a new book of his/her choosing. Her dedication to students and promoting/improving reading is evident. In addition to her dedication to the library, Linda has taken on the new responsibility of teaching a Senior Focus class this year. She is one busy lady who wants the best for our students.”

This month’s sponsor is Century 21 Waldrop & Associates. Tommy Waldrop and associate Dustin Hawkins honored Hiles with a $50 gift certificate from the Mayfield-Graves County Chamber of Commerce to spend at a local business and a GCHS pullover jacket with “Best in the Nest” logo emblazoned on it.

In addition, Cheers Food and Fuel (Eagle Express) gave her $40 worth of gasoline or merchandise. She received two movie tickets from Princess Theatres and a free car wash from Rainbo Car Wash.
