GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - When Ballard Memorial visits the Graves County Eagles’ Nest to square off in basketball Friday night, January 25, the two high schools’ fans will team up to fight cancer.
Everyone’s encouraged to wear pink to show support for Coaches vs. Cancer.
The organization’s mission is to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living among students, faculty, staff, fans, and the community at large, through year-round awareness efforts, fundraising activities, and advocacy programs.
The Lady Bombers will take on the Lady Eagles in a district match-up, starting at 6 p.m. Before the game, a special group will sing the National Anthem. In the nightcap, the Bombers play the Eagles.
Throughout Friday evening, everyone will have an opportunity to make a contribution to fight cancer and to have an American Cancer Society paper cutout displayed on the Wall of Hope. Those who donate can sign the cutouts in honor or in memory of friends and loved ones who have battled cancer. Additionally, Coaches vs. Cancer baskets will be available for those who simply want to donate to the cause.
