GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The Graves County Lady Eagles bowling team finished third among 16 regional champions at the 2013 Kentucky High School Athletic Association state tournament in Louisville Feb. 8.

The team reached the semifinals, falling to Taylor County, which went on to become state champion. The Lady Eagles placed third among the 16 regional champions in qualifying. Graves defeated Louisville Sacred Heart as well as Boone County to reach the final four.

Lady Eagle Kelsey Latta placed highest among western Kentucky bowlers: tenth overall in individual competition. She scored 595 in three games, notching a final game high of 254. Fellow Lady Eagle Katie Cathy placed 13th, with a score of 573.

Another Lady Eagle, Sarah Watts, placed 22nd at 523. Graves County’s boys’ team was seeded 15th and lost to No. 2 seed Louisville Manual in the first round. Graves County’s Austin Dunn placed highest among western Kentuckians: in 30th place at 546.
