MAYFIELD, KY (KFVS) - Graves County High School has hired Kayla Jones Sims as the new girls' soccer head coach.
Sims has taken over the position from Abbie Morris whose first year as the Lady Eagles' coach was Sims' senior year as a player. Another connection is that Sims' husband is Graves County boys' soccer head coach, Zach Sims. They married earlier this summer.
“I accepted the new job because it’s a great opportunity for me with a lot of talent and potential coming up in the next several years for the program, in addition to the great talent that is there now,” said Sims. “I played for Graves all through high school and was excited for the opportunity to come back 'home' and hopefully take the team to the next level and help the program grow into a bigger and stronger program.
